China and Vietnam

Up to my old shannigans and trippng around.

I have spent the last 8 months in china working like a dog. No weekends, working at night, full court press to say the least. It was a heck of a growing experience for me proffesionally and otherwise. My time in China will be with me for a long time.

Now its time for some much needed r&r.

The plan is a week in China, then off to Vietnam to buy a motorcycle (I bought today).
This first post is about my week or so in China. I decided to trip around the province of Yunnan.

I flew into the city of Lijiang

Before
 After dinner
This is tiger leaping Gorge
A couple day hike I did

I hiked with a dutch guy and an englishman

Words I think are not needed here

Squatters are not usually my cup of tea....but what a view hey

Here is the mountain brothel. These girls are feisty

Apparently a tiger jumped across this thing at one point. Not sure how he got down the sheer cliffs for he jump though.

Very beautiful and peacful 2 day hike.

Very Hungry I made it to Shangri-la. It real was a bit of paradise. This is my first yak burger. Then it was yak jerky, yak milk, yak cheese, yak butter tea, yak cheese fried in yak ghee, yak stew. Yakety yakety yak.
Went on a bike ride with some fellow travellers to the lake. some cute girls on the way
we actually never made it cause we stopped at what looked like a temple. It was actually some dudes house. He showed us around and then made an exquisite local meal...well his daughter did while mom was up on the mountain collecting mushrooms. Very advanced society where woman do all the work, clean, cook. The men garden and mostly lie around. Very cool experience. We never made it to the lake.

The swastika is a very sacred symbol in hinduism and buddisim. Damm you hitler!!

The daughter has the swastika tatooed in between her eyes if you look closely

Nice view

Shangri-la is part of tibet, Very beautiful breathtaking place

Yak hot pot

We also visited a cool Naxi village. Even more known for the men do nothing and the women do everything. I was told it would be humiliating if the men did stuff. Also heard of a strong man competition where they filled baskets with stones to see who could carry the most. Then up comes farmer girl and carried more than all the men :)

 Natural water cascaded.
 Fellow travellers
In the village there is sacred monks called dongba's. They have a hyrogliphic language.

I made it to the capitol of Yunnan - Kunming
Very peacful park called green lake for obvious reasons. Very Feng shui

Now if I had a gilrfriend this is how I would buy her flowers

Choose your poison: Above terranchula / below scorpions. Momy can I have a scorpion.

Border into vietnam

I think the nicest I have seen yet

 Adios China

Arrival in vietnam. The train was...an experience. I will show some photos next time.

Here is hanoi

It would not be a proper temple offering if it did not have a fine selection of local as well as imported beer
